Political Correctness and The First Amendment
Before Political Correctness, if you didn't like a person because of the color of their skin, you could just say so. You'd be a racist jerk and wrong if you did say so, but you could say so. You had that right, thanks to the 1st Amendment. People pretty much always knew how things stood between them. Who they were dealing with.
Nowadays, if you don't like a person because of their opinions and belief system, even If you can state clearly and concisely why you don't like that person and list each reason in detail, if their skin color happens to be a different shade than yours, people have the right to call you a Racist or even a Lying Racist. They're judgmental jerks and wrong if they do say so, but they can say so, they have that right, thanks to the 1st Amendment. People today are constantly walking on eggshells for fear of 'offending' someone else. You never know how things stand between you, or who you're dealing with.
Thanks to Political Correctness.
